Hubble's Orbit

Hubble is circling the Earth at an altitude of a lightly less than 600 km above the ground. The orbit is inclined at 28.5 degrees to the Equator. This was also the inclination of the Space Shuttle that deployed Hubble in 1990. The time for one orbit is between 96 and 97 minutes.

Hubble's orbit above the Earth. It is easy to see why people call this a "low-Earth orbit".
