May 2009 - The Coma Galaxy Cluster
The Coma Cluster of galaxies is more than 20 million light-years in diameter and contains thousands of members. Most of the galaxies in the central portion of the Cluster are of the elliptical type. These featureless "fuzz-balls" are pale gold in colour and contain huge numbers of old stars.
