Steve Black grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and studied science, astronomy and physics from an early age. He was part of the Internet Music Boom from 1998 - 2003 as one of the core of 7 MP3.com founders before it received funding. The story and picture were in Rolling Stone Magazine, September 1999. During that time he served the artist community by working toward the Democratization of Opportunity within the music business.
Noticing the trend in many genres of music toward remixing existing song structures into derivative creative works, and greatly inspired by viewing a Jackson Pollack at a Bellagio exhibit, he began using Photoshop to "remix" HST images into various abstract forms.
The goal was to translate some aspects of the music process into artistic imagery and create works that derive equally from algorithm and instinct.
He now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, studying and working toward becoming a part of the Science/Art community.
