Visitors of the Chiavenna Astro Day

On 24 June more than 100 visitors gathered in the Teatro Società Operaia di Chiavenna to listen to the talks given as part of the Chiavenna Astro Day. The special day was organised as part of the display of the Hubble travelling exhibition Our Place in Space, currently shown in Chiavenna, Italy. Six invited speakers from ESA, ESO and NASA gave an overview on the history and the scientific impact of Hubble, how Hubble images are made, the future NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope, ESA’s Gaia satellite, and an overview on NASA’s scientific missions.
