Doradus Constellation (ground-based image)

This is a ground-based image of the Doradus Constellation. The 30 Doradus is a region of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). The LMC is a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way and this particular region is the largest and most prolific star forming region in our galaxy. Many of the stars are among the most massive known. Several of them are over 100 times more massive than our Sun.
