Ground Image of 30 Doradus Region of LMC

This image shows the 30 Doradus region of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). The LMC is a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way and this particular region is the largest and most prolific star forming region in our galaxy. Many of the stars here are among the most massive known. Several of them are over 100 times more massive than our Sun.
