The Crab Nebula

It's nice to view so many DSS2 images in the user gallery! Looks like FITS Liberator given to new life the old good photo plates from Palomar. After many wide field compositions, I tried a little object, the Crab Nebula, that is large just few arc-minutes. The Samuel Oschin Schmidt telescope, with its 6ø field of view, is definitely not the best instrument for picturing small objects, but I was surprised from the result even on this small nebula, if properly processed. Here is a 2/3 resolution image for the gallery.
