Zooming in on the Andromeda Galaxy
This video shows the location of the Andromeda Galaxy (also known as Messier 31, or M 31) in the sky. M 31 is the closest spiral galaxy to Earth. The video begins with a photograph of the Milky Way, and ends on an image of M 31 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2.
