3D rotating dark matter (artist's impression)

This video shows the first 3D map of the distribution of dark matter that scientists have created by analysing the Hubble COSMOS survey - the largest survey of the Universe ever conducted by the Hubble Space Telescope. Note how the clumping of the dark matter becomes more pronounced, moving right to left across the volume map, from the early Universe to the more recent Universe.
