Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-31) Launch
Lift-off of the Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-31), which launched the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. STS-31 was the 35th mission of the American Space Shuttle program, and although the main purpose of the mission was to deploy Hubble into a 612 kilometre Low Earth Orbit, it also carried onboard experiments and IMAX cameras for the crew to capture the mission. The footage later appeared in the IMAX film Destiny in Space.
