Core of NGC 1512

Core of NGC1512 galaxy, taken via Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 camera, highlighting the H-II regions near the core in red colour. NGC1512 is untypical because of two reasons: ring of H-II around the core (pictured here), and the fact that it is so called Ring-type-galaxy, a galaxy whose outer parts are shaped into a ring orbiting the core.
