Zooming in on NGC 6503

This video begins with a ground-based view of the night sky, before zooming in on galaxy NGC 6503 as the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope sees it.

The galaxy, which lies about 18 million light-years away is at the edge of a strangely empty patch of space called the Local Void.
